On Sunday 14th of September two of our Members, Harry Bell aged thirteen and Adam Kenzitt aged fourteen travelled to Garstang to play in the Lancashire Cadet trials. Twenty cadets from all over Lancashire took part and they were put in to groups of five with the top two from each group moving forward. Unfortunately Harry did not play his best on the day and did not progress to the knockout stages.
Adam, as our coach who travelled with them said he ‘played out of his skin’ playing shots he didn’t think he had. He will be able to play the shots better as he grows.
He beat two seeds with an England ranking of 71st and 135th and lost his only set of the day to the eventual runner up from Cumbria. Adam is ranked 189 in the England Cadets, a ranking that he will certainly improve on as he plays more tournaments. Unfortunately the Trials do not count towards ranking points.
He also beat Daniel Olsberg 3-1. Daniel is the current Junior Champion of the Bury League.
Adam and Harry are due to play in the Stiga Blackpool Cadets and the North West under fifteens next month.
