You may not be aware that Mandy, our coach, was one of the thousands of ‘Games Makers’ at the Olympics and was heavily involved in the running of the Table Tennis being played there.
Mandy as just completed a similar role in the Commonwealth Games so is able to bring all of her skills and experiences in these roles to be better placed in the running of the Academy and the coaching.
Mandy is now the Team Manager in the Sainsbury’s School Games and has sent me a note to pass on to you all about the games and an opportunity to see top junior players in these games.
I Just want to bring to your attention the fact that the Sainsbury School Games (of which you are no doubt aware that I am the Team Manager for the England North West table tennis squad) will be based in Manchester this year from the 4th-7th September. The table tennis will be held at the Tennis Centre next door to the Etihad Stadium in Manchester. Tickets are now available on the website or can be purchased at the venue.
This is a fantastic competition which brings together the top juniors in the country alongside Ireland, Scotland Wales & Brazil & is used as a platform for the future Olympians of tomorrow.
Go along. It’s worth seeing.
