The 2013/14 Season was a great success with the Bury TT League players Harry Bell, Adam Kenzitt and Max Brooks winning the Sponsors Cup.
We welcomed Lindsay Reynolds to our coaching team. Lindsay finished competitive TT to have more time with her young family and help Dad, Bill Thornton in his TT equipment supply business. Lindsay was ranked as high as number 4 in England and has shown to be a great addition to our coaching team.
At the start of the season Secretary Keith Warrington had a fall whilst out walking which resulted in a serious spinal injury. Hospitalised for 8 months and returning home in March 2014, Keith is now walking with the aid of a frame. Because the Academy has strong and active Committee the Academy the work that Keith did was spread across the Committee Members. Special thanks go to Parent Representatives Michelle Kenzitt and Eric Smythe who looked after the register and finances each week as well as the running of the team in the Bury League.
The last weeks coaching session on 4th July was the usual end of season Tournament. In session one for the Beginners Ben Hurst was the winner in a ‘round robin’ contest. Runner up was Rebecca Behrens and third was Ben Strapps.
In session two the strength of the League players Harry Bell, Adam Kenzitt and Max Brooks along with Nathan Faun saw themselves through to the semi-finals. Adam beat Nathan and Max beat Harry. Max was in great form and ran out the winner against Adam.
